Winter at the Rossland Motel

image
Winter is when the Rossland Motel and the town of Rossland really come alive!  We all live for snow here and you can tell by the "Be Back at Noon" notes on the shop doors on a powder day or all the people buying groceries at 4pm in their ski gear!

There are no lift lines here, the locals are friendly (but they won't show you ALL their secret stashes on the mountain), the shops are locally owned and operated, the restaurants are gastronomical (in a good way), our family run grocery store has everything you could possibly need from gluten-free to fresh organic fruit and vegetables, the coffee shops make a mean cup of joe from mostly local roasters.  I don't have to go on you've already picked up the phone to call me haven't you? :)

If you want to step up your snow experience then a day (or two... or three...) cat skiing with Big Red Cats should be added to your itinary.  They have 8 peaks and 19,300 acres so if your legs aren't tired and ready for the hot tub at the end of the day, well, then, I don't know what to say, you may be super human and trying to keep it under wraps so pretend your tired and no one will be the wiser!

If someone in your group doesn't ski, never fear, we have evening sleigh rides just up the road with Record Ridge Riding or rent a pair of snowshoes and head out on Drakes trail behind the motel.  Cross country skiing is always an option up at Black Jack Ski Club too.

This is a special place that will give you a passion for the outdoors you didn't think was possible.  You will dream about your holiday here and when you can come back.  I wouldn't be joking if I told you some of my regular guests have moved here permanently in the last five years and now their friends and family come and stay here and dream about moving here as well!  Come experience Rossland, you won't regret it!
