Does anything beat summer in the mountains?
Summer at the Rossland Motel can either keep you busy or see you relaxed in the hammock reading a book. If you love adrenaline there is almost 200km of bike trails ready to test your limits. Our most famous trail is the Seven Summits which was given Epic status by the IMBA in 2007. If that trail isn't on your bucket list it should be!
Although we are often referred to as the Mountain Biking Capitol of Canada don't think that is all we have to offer during summer. All of our bike trails are also open to hikers. If you don't feel like sharing the trail with our pedal powered friends why not hike to the top of Mt. Roberts? If you are visiting on July 1st we would love to have you join the community hike to the top to raise our massive Canadian flag! If you are visiting on a Thursday join the residents of Rossland at the Farmers Market where you can buy gourmet cupcakes, artisan breads, local organic fruits, veg and herbs, and lots of other crafty artsy things. We are a talented bunch around here!
For those adrenaline junkies visiting in the spring/summer don't miss a chance to brave the rapids with Nelson Whitewater Rafting Co. They offer wild water or scenic float trips.
The beautiful Les Ferber designed Redstone Golf Course is a mere 5km away from the Rossland Motel. Enjoy the breathtaking scenery and the chance to see wildlife at every challenging hole. Birchbank Golf Course is just down the mountain in Trail. Other courses less than an hour away include Champion Lakes Golf Course.
If there is an angler in your group let him know the Mighty Columbia River is just a 15 minute drive down the mountain. Don't miss all our fantastic mountain lakes either.
